BOGIES FOR HIGH SPEED PASSENGER COACHES FROM THE CONSTRUCTIONAL VIEWPOINT
SCHNELLFAHRENDE REISEZUGWAGEN-DREHGESTELLE IN KONSTRUKTIVER SICHT
Economical high speed running of over 160 km/h can be obtained with wheels with a worn profile. This requires stabilization of the running of the wheelset or bogie by means of an additional damper in the form of mechanical rotation braking or fluid shock absorbers. The method of supporting the body on the bogies is important for smooth running. The author uses examples to show solutions for different construction methods. The problem of smooth running at high speeds and radial axles has not yet been solved from the constructional viewpoint.
