RAIL SYSTEMS WITH CONTACT-FREE OPERATING TECHNIQUES

Contact-free operating techniques may be better than the wheel/rail system for very high speeds. To determine the possibilities and limits of the different rail systems, and thus establish a basis for future transport policy decisions, a vast research and development programme is being completed in the German Federal Republic, with the support of the Federal Minister for Research and Technology.
