AUTOMATED QUAYSIDE CONTAINER CRANES
This article outlines the features of five highly automated quayside container cranes which were recently delivered to two ports in Japan. The cranes use an electric anti-sway device in lieu of a mechanical one and have independent cabs which move independently from the trolley with the conventional cab. The operator can operate the crane semi-automatically in a comfortable environment which is separated from trolley movement.
