FLEXIBLE LOADING OF 20FT AND 40FT CONTAINERS
An Anti-Rack-Spacer (ARS) has been developed which is intended for use where 20ft containers are loaded into 40ft container cellguides and is employed across the central 76mm (ISO) gap between the ends of two 20ft containers. The ARS comprises a flat plate with fixed container cones on the top and botton of each end together with a raised distance piece on the top and bottom between them. The design of the ARS is such that it allows the containers to have a free sideways movement at the ISO gap of 18mm after which the container corners contact the distance piece, thus preventing any further movement. No conversion work is necessary for a vessel to be fitted with the ARS system.
