THE SHIP MANAGER'S VIEW OF THE SHIPREPAIR AND CONVERSION MARKET
The paper gives the view of a ship management company which organizes, on average, some 50 vessel drydockings worldwide each year. Changes in the shiprepair and conversion market over the short to medium term, and the effect that these changes will have on how clients are serviced are considered. How the introduction of quality management disciplines can benefit ship manger-ship repairer relations in the face of what promises to be a critical period in the development of the international shipping industry are discussed.
