ON A STUDY FOR INFLUENCE OF LOADING CONDITION ON A PREDICTION OF SHIP MANOEUVRABILITY
A method to predict ship manoeuvrability in the fully loaded condition is proposed by applying the results obtained by sea trials in ballast or heavy ballast conditions. The flow straightening coefficient and effective wake fraction coefficient at the rudder location RO were selected as the parameters that express the influence of the loading condition on ship manoeuvrability. From the numerical simulations it is shown that the prediction method provides relatively good accuracy to predict turning ability.
