TARQUIN RANGER: APPLEDORE-BUILT LPG CARRIER
TARQUIN RANGER is a 5,771dwt double-hull vessel utilising the wing and double bottom spaces for the carriage of water ballast, gas oil and heavy oil, and having two, self-supporting cargo tanks in the central hold. These are fitted on wood blocks and anti-flotation chocks to allow the loads, stresses and dynamic effects associated with low-temperature liquid cargo to be transmitted to the ship's structure without hindering the normal, thermal expansion and contraction of the tanks, resulting from cargo temperature. General arrangement drawings are included in this article.
