J F J DE NUL: A LARGE MULTI-PURPOSE HOPPER DREDGER
This new-generation trailing suction hopper dredger is believed to be the largest of its type in the world, and has been designed to carry out the widest possible variety of functions, including major dredging operations, reclamation, offshore and backfilling contracts, under climatic conditions ranging from tropical (plus or minus 50 degrees C), to Arctic (-20 degrees C). The vessel was built by Merwede Shipyard, The Netherlands, for Ondernemingen Jan de Nul NV, Belgium. Principal particulars are listed and general arrangement drawings are given.
