THE CHALLENGE OF PLANNING, DESIGNING AND CONSTRUCTING THE NEW SLEIPNER A GBS WITHIN 15 MONTHS
After the fatal loss of the Sleipner A Gravity Base Structure (GBS) during construction in 1991, a new platform had to be designed and built. This paper describes the steps that had to be taken to fulfil the gas delivery agreement, from the civil engineering side, with main emphasis on the integrated design and construction process.
