INNOVATIVE DESIGNS FOR NEW DREDGERS

The article describes several innovative dredger designs. Included are: IJSSELMEER built by IHC and REIMERSWAAL built by Barkmeijer Stroobos, both are suction dredgers with a direct drive and diesel powered ladder-mounted pump and ARU II a trailing suction hopper dredger built by Krupp Fordertechnik in Germany.
