DESIGN SPECIFICATIONS AND IMPLEMENTATION REQUIREMENTS FOR LONG TERM PERFORMANCE MODELLING FOR ASPHALT ROADS
This paper documents the procedures which are needed to develop a long term pavement performance (LTPP) modelling program and data base for asphalt roads for future pavement management efforts. It builds on principles developed by the senior authors, for the Strategic Highway Research Program. A method of developing an experiment design which meets current pavement prediction needs is described, followed by a discussion of the types of data which should be collected. The human and financial resources required to establish, maintain and monitor the database periodically are reported. (A) For the covering abstract of the conference see IRRD 873950.
