RIGHT-OF-WAY APPRAISALS VIA THE LAPTOP COMPUTER: INCREASED PRODUCTIVITY WITH LESS MONEY
This paper examines the authors's experience with implementation of laptop computer use for on-site appraisals of right-of-way areas which included Black Hills (SD) agricultural, rural residential, commercial, industrial, and residential property. When the discussed programs are completely in place, the time to produce an appraisal should decrease by 50 percent. The entire right-of-way program will profit from the increased speed and accuracy and less money will be spent on hiring fee appraisers to complete projects to meet bid letting dates.
