MANUFACTURE OF LIGHTWEIGHT AGGREGATES. AN UP-TO-DATE PLANT FOR THE LECA PROCESS

Brief details are given of the manufacture of lightweight aggregates by the leca method at the hinge plant in Denmark. The layout of the plant and the equipment involved is explaned. Descriptions are presented of the raw materials, the rotary kiln, the cooler, firing, storage, and dust handling. Operational data are summarised, together with the uses of the aggregate. /TRRL/
