DURABILITY OF DC HIGH SPEED CIRCUIT BREAKER UNDER FREQUENT ACTIONS
A high-speed DC circuit breaker for electric railway service must interrupt a fault current or an overcurrent in the feeder circuit. The circuit breaker should be maintained in good condition so it will always act to interrupt an abnormal current without fail. Japanese National Railways has determined experimentally the durability of five types of circuit breakers under grequent operation and developed a method for expressing the reliability of a breaker in service.
