LOWERING THE ORDER OF SYSTEMS OF NONLINEAR DIFFERENTIAL EQUATIONS OF MOTION BY ELIMINATING FAST-DECAYING SOLUTIONS

Some methods of decomposition of systems of nonlinear differential equations into lower-order blocks are considered. This is particularly effective is cases when the system contains fast-decaying motions that can usefully be excluded. Two methods of such decomposition are presented. Applicability of these methods is demonstrated by examples regarding railroad rolling stock motions.
