CAUSES OF ROAD TRAFFIC ACCIDENTS (1992-1995)

This international bibliography includes abstracts of reports, conference papers, books and journal articles on road accident causation. Papers are abstracted on the influence of various factors on driving behaviour, such as stress, fatigue, drug and alcohol use; the relationship between road traffic accidents and speeding, driver age and sex, driver training, weather conditions, vehicle failure, skidding etc. Abstracts are also included on the various groups of road users affected by traffic accidents, for example elderly drivers, cyclists, pedestrians and motor-cyclists. Methodological studies of the causes of road accidents and the accuracy of injury and fatality statistics are also covered. The items have been selected from the material added to the Transport Research Laboratory's Library Database beween 1992 and 1995.
