REBUILD AMERICA COALITION AND ECONOMIC POLICY INSTITUTE HOLD PUBLIC INVESTMENT ROUNDTABLE
The Rebuild America Coalition and the Economic Policy Institute (EPI), a Washington, D.C., think-tank, held a roundtable discussion on public investment for the 21st century. Economic Nobel Laureate Lawrence Klein of the University of Pennsylvania headed a distinguished panel of infrastructure experts who generally criticized the nation's lack of attention to the long-term infrastructure needs of America. The panelists included Tom Downs, President of AMTRAK; Sen. Jim Jeffords of Vermont; Congressman Bob Wise of West Virginia; economics professor and author Robert Eisner from Northwestern University; as well as representatives from the AFL-CIO; the Civil Engineering Research Foundation; and the National Institute of Standards and Technology.
