FATIGUE DESIGN OF STEEL STRUCTURES: A REVIEW
Several aspects of the fatigue design of steel and composite steel-concrete structures are discussed. Existing specifications are reviewed together with the shortcomings in currently available fatigue design data. The importance of load and stress histories is emphasized and the influence of structural connections and welding in particular on the fatigue strength of structures is pointed out. Problems associated with the selection of test specimens for fatigue tests are discussed. (A) /TRRL/
