METHOD FOR ANALYSIS OF MOTORWAY ACCIDENTS
METHODE VOOR HET ANALYSEREN VAN AUTOSNELWEG-ONGEVALLEN
Within the framework of projects on signalisation on motorways a method of analysing accidents is being worked out. The objective, the analysis of accidents for the motivation of signalisation systems, has been of considerable influence on the structure of the method. After the theoretical basis for the analysis has been laid, the method was applied to some 4000 accidents that occurred in the years 1970, 1971 and 1972. Some of the results are presented as an illustration of the method. These results show that at present there is still too little information available to carry out the analysis properly. /TRRL/
