DESIGN MANUAL FOR ROADS AND BRIDGES. VOLUME 4A. A PERMEAMETER FOR ROAD DRAINAGE LAYERS
The Advice Note describes a box-type permeameter apparatus, for testing road drainage layers and sets out a test procedure for determining horizontal permeability. The test procedure can be used to determine the horizontal permeability of embankment drainage layers, capping materials and sub-bases. The procedure only applies to laminar flow conditions and not to situations where high hydraulic gradients and turbulent flow could occur.
