The bibliography contains citations concerning design, construction, maintenance, and repair of airport runways. Studies include dynamic response of runways to aircraft loads, nondestructive tests of runway strength, and evaluation of runway properties as to roughness, slipperiness, crack propagation, and maneuverability space for various types of landing gear. Runway paving materials include concrete, synthetic polymers, asphalt, bonded layer materials, and various aggregate materials. The paving materials are developed both for initial construction and for rapid repair.
