ARCTIC COLD WEATHER OPERATIONS OF SURFACE SHIPS. PROCEEDINGS

This report is in microfiche form. The strategic importance of the Arctic is increasing. Soviet capabilities, coupled with the extensive deployment of Soviet surface ships and submarines in the Arctic/Subarctic Oceans near Europe make the region an area of growing importance to both commercial and strategic defence interests. The objective of this Symposium was to gather representatives from the Government, academia, and industry to prepare for these types of operations.
