SHEETS OF ARTIFICIAL FABRICS UNDER AN EMBANKMENT, TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS FOR THEIR APPLICATION IN TEST SECTIONS

In order to prepare the construction of a series of test sections in the last few years technical specifications for the use of plastic sheets under sand embankments have been drafted. The specifications include requirements for strength, stiffness, durability, quality control and application techniques of plastic sheets. In this paper the development of these specifications and the laboratory testing of the sheets is discussed.
