PRACTICE AND DEVELOPMENT OF CAD/CAM SYSTEM IN SHIPYARD

The paper discusses the trend for setting up a CAD/CAM system in a shipyard giving the example of the computer application for development of the Shanghai Shipyard. The importance of orgaware when hardware and software are used is stressed. The requirements and prospects of the establishment of an advanced CAD/CAM system are considered.
