TORSIONAL VIBRATION CHARACTERISTICS OF MARINE DIESEL PROPULSION SYSTEM INSTALLED WITH HIGHLY-ELASTIC RUBBER COUPLING; 2ND REPORT, THEORETICAL ANALYSIS

A practical calculation method is presented for the torsional vibration of highly damped systems with rubber couplings. The calculation method is constructed by a modal analysis technique, outputs frequency response characteristics, forced vibrations responses and mode animations. It was verified that the assumption of general viscous damping employed in this calculation, gives satisfactory results close to those measured.
