SA'AR 5 CORVETTES DELIVERED TO ISRAELI NAVY
Three 86m Sa'ar class corvettes (INS EILAT, INS LAHAV and INS HANIT) have been completed by Ingalls Shipbuilding of Pascagoula, Mississippi, for the Israeli Navy. The 1200t Sa'ar 5 corvette, which incorporates a helicopter hangar, has been described, ton for ton, as the most heavily armed ship in the world. The article describes the principal particulars of the Sa'ar and includes a profile drawing showing the combat system arrangement and the arrangement of bulkheads and machinery spaces.
