LIQUID-COOLED DISC BRAKES
The Conventional disc brake can reach very high temperatures that seriously impair the brake performance despite the continuing development of better materials used as friction pairs. Lower temperatures can be obtained by using a fluid to remove much of the heat generated by friction. This paper analyzes the thermal behavior of oil-immersed brakes and discusses the factors that influence the friction surface temperature and performance. Finally consideration is given to the use of wet brakes in road vehicles./Author/
