PAVEMENT ELASTIC MODULI BY THE SURFACE WAVE METHOD CORRELATED WITH IN-SITU MEASUREMENTS OF ELASTIC RESPONSE UNDER MOVING VEHICLE LOADS
This paper contains a very brief review of the surface wave method and describes a field installation and a data acquisition system, whereby in-situ measurements of pavement response variables in two full-depth structures were obtained. Measured values of tensile strain and defelction caused by a standard test vehicle are summarized and moduli of pavement layers, derived by the surface wave method, are presented. By an iterative procedure using classical elastic layer analysis, later moduli are derived which reproduce these measured critical parameters and these moduli are compared to those derived from the surface wave method. /RTAC/
