A STUDY OF THE VARIATIONS OF COMPACTIBILITY OF BITUMINOUS MIXTURES WITHIN THE SPECIFICATIONS LIMITS

The main purpose of this study is to determine to what extent one can, during the design stage, improve the compactibility by varying the grading and the bitumen content within the specifications limits. The study also gives information concerning: (1) the relation between the resistance to compaction, as defined by Lefebvre, and the compactibility as defined by Fromm; and (2) the relation between the compactibility and the voids content of asphalt pavements. /RTAC/
