DEVELOPMENT OF A SIMULATION MODEL FOR LIGHT-SIGNAL CONTROLLED ROUNDABOUTS

ENTWICKLUNG EINES SIMULATIONSMODELLS FUER KREISVERKEHRPLAETZE MIT LICHTSIGNALANLAGEN

A simulation model with an accessory computer program for the traffic modeling on light-signal controlled roundabouts has been developed and successfully tested. With the PC program KREISIG the influence of different parameters on the roundabout capacity can be studied and the signal times of the light-signal system as well as the roundabout geometry can be optimized. As important additional results of the simulation, the delay of the cars and the state of tail-backs are monitored.
