TRAFFIC SAFETY IN RURAL AREAS
VERKEERSVEILIGHEID IN PLATTELANDSGEHIEDEN
The problems of traffic hazards on rural highways are studied in a special area in Holland, in which the number of fatal accidents suddenly doubled. The method of study is described. Recommendations are presented for measures to increase safety in this area. Furthermore, criteria are presented for long range research on the lay-out of rural highways, which could lead to common applicable infrastructural changes for the increase of traffic safety in rural areas. For the covering abstract of the conference, see IRRD abstract no 220549. /TRRL/
