DO-IT YOURSELF VANPOOL GUIDE
The Washington State Ridesharing Organization and the Washington State Department have produced this guide as a public service for the citizens of Washington State. The guide was written for those who wish to own or lease their own vans and operate vanpools that recover the commute portion of their fixed and operating costs, and not for profit. Washington State laws define a "commuter ride sharing group" as a prearranged, fixed group of no more than fifteen people. The group commutes from home (or a prearranged meeting place) to work, school, or other institution and back in a single, round trip in which the driver is also commuting.
