EVALUATION OF WAVE QUALITY IN A MULTIDIRECTIONAL WAVE BASIN

This paper documents the results of a comprehensive experimental study carried out to estimate the accuracy with which identical tests can be reproduced in the usable test area of basin. The tests included regular and irregular unidirectional and multidirectional waves. The water surface elevation and the water particle kinematics were measured at different locations. The repeatability of the wave conditions at different locations is evaluated. The experimental measurements of the water surface elevation profiles and water particle kinematics for the regular waves are compared with theoretical predictions.
