RISC - EFFICIENT IRM FOR FIXED OFFSHORE PLATFORMS

The safety and operating life of fixed offshore platforms is dependent on periodic inspections to ensure structural integrity. The number of inspections, the locations, and the frequency of inspections have traditionally been a matter for engineering judgement. However in a recent project, this approach has been rationalised using methods developed from structural reliability theory.
