INFLUENCE OF ANODE-CATHODE DISTANCE ON SACRIFICIAL ANODE RESISTANCE
The effects of anode-cathode distance on anode resistance have been evaluated with a scaled model. A comparison was made using predictions made with the modified Dwight formula. For practical anode-cathode distances, the resistance was significantly lower. A new anode resistance formula is proposed which takes this effect into account. The applicability of this formula to cathodic protection of offshore structures is discussed.
