ANALYSIS OF VESSEL LAUNCHING FROM A BARGE
The relative position of two interacting moving vessels in free contact is considered. An iterative procedure is applied to find the hydrostatic balance, contact forces and pressures between the two bodies having two degrees of freedom each. The dynamic calculation, preceded by the static calculation, is based on energy conservation, linear momentum and impulse conservation principles, resulting in displacements, velocities and accelerations of both vessels. The procedure is applied to longitudinal launching from a multipurpose barge.
