EXPERIMENTAL STUDY OF MOTION OF SINGLE AND MULTIPLE TANKERS MOORED TO SPM SYSTEM
In this paper, fish-tailing motions of single and multiple tankers moored to a SMP system and forces of the mooring system are studies experimentally. Single, series, and parallel connections with an SPM system are considered for the tankers. Experiments are carried out on the motion responses of the moored tankers in the horizontal plan under the effects of wind and current, and the influence of the motion responses to mooring forces and chain tension. It is found that the effect of the change of wind and current on the motion of a tanker is not monotonous and the response and force may have different regularity in different mooring conditions.
