ANALYSIS OF TRACTOR-TRAILER AND LARGE TRUCK ACCIDENT DATA

Twenty-one hypotheses alleging to the existence of a national problem with large truck involvement in highway safety were reviewed, evaluated, and critiqued in relation to the available research findings and literature. Existing truck accident data from Texas and California were also analyzed and compared to each hypothesis. The findings are assessed and recommendations are presented.
