ON THE IMPLEMENTATION OF NON-STATIONARY FORCES IN THE MATHEMATICAL MODEL OF A SHIP MANOEUVRING SIMULATOR
The implementation of memory effects in the mathematical model of a ship manoeuvring simulator is required in situations characterised by relatively large accelerations. A review of techniques suited for calculating non-stationary hydrodynamic forces is given, resulting into the selection of a mathematical model. Subsequently, the theoretical base of the implementation is described, making use of a set of impulse response functions which are determined by a restricted set of parameters.
