HULL VIBRATION TESTING IN ONE SHOT
In an attempt to improve the quality of simulated propeller excitation, a new method which is more true to real life has been developed. This method is based on an impulse excitation of the ship. The pulse is generated, in the water, in the plane of the propeller by means of an airgun. The basic principle is that the impulse is generated by a compressed body of air, being released momentarily into the surrounding water.
