BACKGROUND AND CONSIDERATIONS FOR SELECTION - SHIPBUILDER FOR SES

This paper discusses why a shipyard would choose to incorporate an SES in their range of products. The SES offers good seakeeping, high speed, low draft and low wash characteristics. With an SES an operator has the opportunity to offer the passengers a good fast service without additional costs. For large fast ferries the SES is still a cost effective solution. This explains why many shipyards have recently chosen to design SES.
