OPTIMISATION OF IRREGULARLY STIFFENED PLATE STRUCTURES UNDER EIGENVALUE PROBLEMS
A "stiffened plate element" is introduced where the stiffness matrix of stiffeners is derived from that of the attaching plate elements without introducing additional nodes at the location of the stiffeners. Thus no remeshing is required if location and length of the stiffeners are changed during the optimisation. Based on the finite element method, a sensitivity analysis for "stiffened plate elements" under the constraints of natural frequency and linear buckling load is developed and combined with a modified sequential linear programming and a quadratic programming method to establish an optimisation system for stiffened plate structures.
