THE HIGH-SPEED PASSENGER JETFOIL
The Kawasaki Jetfoil (JF) is a fully submerged hydrofoil craft manufactured by Kawasaki Heavy Industries Ltd. under licence from Boeing. The JF can develop an ultra-high foilborne speed of 45 kts (83 km/h) and provide a very comfortable and smooth ride even in rough seas, with excellent manoeuvrability. A total of 11 Jetfoils have been delivered to operators worldwide since the manufacturing began in 1988. This article describes the principal particulars and general arrangement.
