MARINE WEATHER DISSEMINATION SYSTEMS STUDY. VOLUME5. GUIDELINES FOR FUTURE COAST GUARD RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT
Systems objectives for advanced alerting and dissemination systems for recreational boatmen are established. Parametric data are presented as a baseline for future initial design efforts on systems to disseminate weather and environmental information to marine users and to alert them to impending hazardous conditions. Areas are identified in which further data are required for systems analysis and design. The work described was performed in the final phase of a study aimed at improving the dissemination of weather information to marine users and at establishing guidelines for future Coast Guard research and development efforts in this field.
