QUENCHED AND TEMPERED PLATES IN THE RANGE 420/550 N/MM2
Quenched and tempered steels with a yield strength in the range 420 - 500 N/mm2 are new extensively used in offshore platform fabrication. This paper makes a survey of presently existing material standards or engineering specifications as far as chemical and mechanical requirements are concerned. Production data are presented as well as the results of a full weldability characterisation program.
