EFFECT OF MARINE BACTERIA ON CALCAREOUS DEPOSITION
Films of marine bacteria and calcareous deposits formed on stainless alloy surfaces and their behaviour under cathodic protection (CP) conditions were investigated. The combined film can act as a diffusion barrier or a cathodic depolariser depending on the applied current density. The implications for CP under various conditions are addressed.
