HIGH SPEED DIESEL A HIT FOR HIGH SPEED FERRIES
On the market since 1985, the Deutz MWM 604B series engine is a development of the well-known 604 engine and has been accepted by classification societies for firing pressures of 170 bar, well above its current 140 bar. Many American high speed ferry operators have installed the 604B on their vessels. The engines design philosophy is reflected in a rugged engine construction to sustain high ratings, featuring a strong crankshaft and crankcase.
