CONTOUR INTEGRALS FOR GRAVITY COMPUTATION OF HORIZONTAL 2 1/2-D BODIES WITH VARIABLE DENSITY
Complex contour integrals for the computation of vertical gravity and its vertical derivative due to a horizontal 2 1/2-D mass model with arbitrary cross-sectional area and variable density are developed. The gravity formulas are applicable when the field point is either inside or outside the body. For horizontal 2 1/2-D polygonal prismatic bodies, closed-form expressions for vertical gravity with linear density variation with depth and horizontal position and the vertical gradient of vertical gravity with uniform density are presented.
