CHARACTERISTICS OF SOOT FORMATION AND DECOMPOSITION AT THE INTERMITTENT SPRAY COMBUSTION

The control of soot emissions from diesel engines is important in minimising air pollution. A previous report described the effects of air temperature air velocity and swirl ratio on soot formation. This study aims to investigate soot formation due to intermittent spray combustion at 750 ms intervals combined with these effects. Results are given.
