EXTREME FORCES ON LARGE AXI-SYMMETRIC OFFSHORE STRUCTURES IN DIRECTIONAL SEAS
The paper describes the probabilistic properties of the horizontal resultant of in-line and transverse components of forces on large axisymmetric offshore structures, as well as its maxima and extreme of maxima. These, in turn, are used to obtain various characteristic values of extreme of maxima and the extreme of maxima which should not be exceeded with a specified probability. This requires zeroth and second moments of in-line and transverse force spectra as primary input parameters.
